Build the system. Keep it running.
Turn a process into software people use every day. Own the harness, the integrations, the evaluations, and what happens when a model gets it wrong.

Forward-deployed engineering
Work where the problem lives.
Sit with the client’s team. Learn the work, find the expensive bottleneck, and build with the people who will use the system. Stay through deployment and measure what changes.
Show us a problem you took from a conversation on the floor to a system running in production.
Specialists
Bring the depth the problem needs.
You know a field the team needs for a specific problem. Work with the engineers on the decisions and exceptions that need that knowledge.
Tell us your field, what you know from doing the work, and where you think it would change the outcome.
Working here
You may have worked in a lab, built a company, or taught yourself by making things. We want to see what you did and how you think.
Follow the work through deployment. Know what the system costs, where it fails, and whether the people using it are better off.
Test the model, inspect the output, and listen to the person on the floor. Drop an approach when it stops working.
Tell the team when something is broken. Ask for help while there is still time to act. Give feedback people can use.
The exception that appears in month nine matters as much as the launch. Someone has to investigate it. That includes you.

A forward-deployed engineer (FDE). You work with the client’s team, learn the operation, build the system, and stay accountable for its performance in production.

You have 30 minutes from the moment you start. There are written questions and a video introduction in English, up to 3 minutes. The same 30 minutes cover the answers and the video. You will need a camera and microphone. No CV is required.
